Medicals Direct Group acquires Medibureau

Medicals Direct Group has acquired outsourced insurance services firm Medibureau for an undisclosed sum.
Medibureau launched in 2000 and arranged medicals and pathology testing for a number of life insurers. The company, which is based in central London, handles the medical aspects of claims on behalf of insurers and provides absence management services to a number of corporate clients.
The acquisition follows Medical Direct Group’s purchase of occupational health specialist Company Health Ltd. The group says the latest acquisition will brings its annual turnover towards £30m.
Medicals Direct founder and CEO Mike Benton says: “The synergies in services and client base make Medibureau a natural fit for us; of particular note is the potential for service enhancements its high calibre proprietary software and systems will bring when integrated with our own technology,’’
“We are developing plans to ensure that this acquisition delivers a major contribution to the group’s performance and fully meets our exacting standards. The new business and expertise will further strengthen our position in the marketplace.”
