Threadneedle GEM head Julian Thompson quits
Threadneedle head of global emerging market equities Julian Thompson is leaving the firm with Vanessa Donegan taking on the enlarged role of head of Asia and global emerging market equities.
Donegan will oversee £6.5bn of assets under management in emerging market equities.
She will continue to manage the £1.1bn Threadneedle Asia and the Asia Pacific mutual fund. Donegan is one of the founding members of Threadneedle’s investment team from 1994. She will report to head of equities Leigh Harrison.
Thompson joined Threadneedle in October 2003 as head of global emerging markets. He previously worked for Stewart Ivory and Co. in Edinburgh where he progressed to head of emerging markets-ex Asia and for American Express Asset Management as head of global emerging markets.
Thompson managed the Threadneedle £117m global emerging market equity and £1bn Latin American funds.
