Thames pair seeds Asian income fund
Thames River multi-manager duo Gary Potter and Robert Burdett are to seed the Schroder Asian income maximiser once it launches next month.
The pair are to take a multi-million-pound position in the fund, with the investment to sit within their £159.2m multi-manager distribution fund. F&C Asset Management last month revealed it is set to buy investment boutique Thames River in a deal worth up to £53.6m.
Schroders Asian income maximiser will be managed by head of structured fund management Thomas See and Richard Sennitt. They will target a 7 per cent yield through higher-yielding stocks and a covered-call overlay.
Potter says the pair have been big fans of the income maximiser approach as they regard drawing income from the fixed-income market as “quite dangerous”, given capital is not as secure as is typically believed.
