Standard Life appoints managing director for global equities

Standard Life has appointed Steve Weeple as it managing director for global equities.
Weeple is currently head of the US equities team at Standard Life as well as managing a number of North American equity portfolios. Weeple is also a specialist analyst on the financials and utilities sectors. He has previously managed European and emerging markets equities products.
Weeple will continue to be based in Boston and will report to head of global equities Lance Phillips.
Jeff Morris will become head of US equities and will continue to report to Weeple.
Weeple says: “This new position will enable me to apply my portfolio management skills to our global equities strategies and provide overall strategic leadership within Standard Life Investments’ US operations. We have strong equity teams within our Edinburgh, Boston and Montreal offices and I look forward to leveraging our powerful idea generation within global equity portfolios on behalf of North American investors.”
