Ron Gillies quits Cofunds for Renaissance
Cofunds head of strategic relations Ron Gillies has left to join Guernsey-based Renaissance Asset Managers as director of UK distribution and head of UK sales.
Renaissance is a specialist in emerging and frontier markets with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe, Africa and Central Asia. Gillies, who was previously sales director at Fidelity FundsNetwork, will be based in London.
Renaissance has also recruited former Scottish Widows Investment Partnership head of Northern Europe Peter Zurhorst to head the business in Germany and Austria.
Gillies and Zurhorst will report to head of distribution and investor relations Adrian Harris.
Harris says: “Ron has a great track record in the UK. We are trying to build ourselves as the go-to place for Eastern Europe, Russia and Africa. Ron will be building distribution in the UK around those three geographies. We now have a senior sales team covering the whole of Europe. This move is about reaching out to make a name for Renaissance across Western Europe.”
