Nick Gartside quits Schroders
Schroders head of global fixed income Nick Gartside has quit the firm after eight years to join JPMorgan Asset Management, Money Marketing understands.
Bhupinder Bahra and Frederick Bourgoin have taken Gartside’s responsibilities on the Schroder/Schroder ISF strategic bond fund, Schroder ISF global bond and the Schroder ISF global inflation bond. The pair will also run the ISF global inflation bond alongside David Scammell.
Gartside joined Schroders in 2002 as a euro government bond portfolio manager. He moved to the global bond team as a global government bond portfolio manager in 2007.
Gartside took on the £324m Schroder strategic bond fund in September 2008 after former global head of fixed income Bob Michele joined JPMorgan Asset Management as chief investment officer fixed income. The fund is second quartile in the past 12 months under Gartside having returned 14.5 per cent.
Gartside will remain with Schroders until the end of the year to ensure a smooth transition of his responsibilities.
Bahra and Bourgoin both joined Schroders in 2006 from Barclays Global Investors. Scammell joined Schroders in 2004 and is head of UK and European interest rate strategies.
