Lowes Wealth Management launches distribution company

Investment manager Lowes Wealth Management has established a new distribution company in conjunction with financial services entrepreneur John Walls to market its funds in the UK.

LWM Distribution will exclusively market the firm’s £3.6m east-west value fund and future LVM value funds. Walls is currently principal of mid-Glamorgan based IFA firm Wealthmasters Financial Management.

Ultimately LWM will provide additional funds all based around the firm’s value concept but broken into more regional areas.

The east-west value fund seeks to invest in 20-35 best value companies from around the world using a classic value investment strategy.  It is diversified across major and emerging economies, currencies and a range of industrial sectors.

The fund is currently 70 per cent invested with 30 per cent in cash and has an absolute cap of £400m but the firm may choose to hold assets at £250-300 to ensure the fund is sufficiently nimble.

LWM managing director Justin Lowes says the firm has had strong buy-in from 6-10 IFAs and is now targeting small investment focused IFAs who are directly regulated, “not wedded to efficient market theory and looking to differentiate themselves and improve risk-adjusted returns for clients.”
