Lloyd George's Ko to retire after 29 years in industry

Lloyd George Management director Adaline Ko is retir- ing after 29 years in financial services.

Ko joined Lloyd George in 1994 and has managed the £7m Eastern opportunities fund since its launch in January 2000.

Chris Tang will take over the fund but Ko will co-manage with Tang until the end of February.

The fund has returned 29.9 per cent over the past three years compared with an average return of 38.2 per cent for the IMA Asia Pacific ex-Japan sector.

Prior to joining Lloyd George, Ko worked for Save & Prosper, then Robert Fleming, where she was director and head of the Pacific region portfolio group.

Tang joined Lloyd George Management Hong Kong in 2005 and is co-portfolio manager of the LG Asian green and LG natural resources fund.

Hargreaves Lansdown senior analyst Meera Patel says: “Performance has not been great on the fund recently so while we are sad to see Adaline go, we hope it will result in a performance turn-round.”
