Lazard MD Wilson to join Investec

Lazard Asset Management managing director and head of third-party distribution Charles Wilson is leaving the firm to join Investec.
Wilson has been at Lazard for 13 years having joined the firm from Morgan Grenfell Asset Management, where he was a regional sales manager.
It is understood Lazard Asset Management chief executive for the UK Bill Smith will take on Wilson’s role as the firm looks for a replacement.
Chelsea Financial Services managing director Darius McDermott says: “It is a shame to see him leave Lazard but he had been there for a longtime. It will be interesting to see what he does at Investec as the firm already has a strong retail presence in the UK.”
Investec was unavailable for comment.
