Ignis Asset Management head of discretionary sales Jon Garland is leaving to join Ardevora Asset Management.

Earlier this month, Garland announced he is leaving Ignis after nearly six years with the firm. He will join Ardevora as a partner in June and will head up sales distribution.

He follows former Ignis head of marketing Rob Page, who left in April to join ex-Liontrust managers Jeremy Lang and William Pattisson at Ardevora.

Ardevora’s UK equity income fund will mark the firm’s first foray in the retail market when it launches next month.

Ardevora says the fund is a good diversification play in the UK equity income sector.

Lang says: “Garland brings a fantastic depth of knowledge and experience in selling investment funds in the UK and has come highly recommended by a number of senior UK discretionary managers.”

Garland says: “I am really delighted to have the opportunity to work with Jeremy Lang and William Pattisson. Their investment process has evolved from their time at Liontrust and with the addition of Ben Fitchew and Gianluca Monaco, I believe they have an outstanding investment proposition.”
