Ignis appoints head of fixed income

Ignis Asset Management has appointed Chris Fellingham as the chief investment officer, fixed income.

He will take overall responsibility for the group’s fixed income assets, which total about £50 billion.

Fellingham will also sit on the company board. Peter Reid remains the chief investment officer, responsible for all other asset classes.

Fellingham joins from Soros Fund Management, a London-based firm founded by George Soros, where he has worked since 2008.

Prior to joining Soros he spent 12 years at Blackrock/Merrill Lynch/Mercury Asset Management where he was the head of the fixed income teams.

Previously, he had spent ten years at Royal Insurance.
