Henderson confirms rebrand of New Star funds

Henderson has finally confirmed that it is to drop the New Star name from its branding.

The group says the rebrand comes off the integration of the Henderson and New Star client administration platforms next month, with the Henderson New Star banner to be replaced by Henderson Global Investors.

Henderson acquired New Star for £115m in 2009. At the time of the deal Henderson chief executive Andrew Formica said the group was keen on the Henderson New Star branding as he felt the latter was a strong brand name which “still had something to offer in the UK retail space”.

Henderson is expected to announce a raft of fund rationalisations on the back of both sets of funds being placed on the same administrative platform next month.
