Hedge funds to make headway with EU curbs

A European parliament committee will propose next week that caps on hedge fund borrowings should not be imposed, according to a report in the Times.

Liberal Democrat MEP Sharon Bowles, whose committee is working on the proposed directive governing hedge funds, private equity and asset managers is expected to suggest that central banks should monitor borrowing levels in their own countries within a range set by Brussels.
