Guy de Blonay to co-manage Gibbs' financial opportunities fund

Guy de Blonay will take on joint management of the Jupiter Financial Opportunities Fund.
He will manage the £1.4 billion fund alongside Philip Gibbs, the head of the financials team, from summer 2010.
de Blonay, who used to manage the New Star Global Financials fund, will join Jupiter in January 2010 in an advisory capacity. Later in the year, he will join Gibbs and Robert Mumby as a member of the financials team.
Gibbs says despite the travails of the past two years, the fund has enjoyed strong inflows during the past year. With the global financials sector making up some 22 per cent of the world’s stock market, Gibbs says, there is a variety of investment opportunities.
He says de Blonay has produced strong performance over a number of years and bringing his investment skills to bear in the management of the Fund will clearly be beneficial.
