Greece prepares bond issue
Greece is expected to tap public debt markets with a £4.5bn bond issue, according to reports.
The news follows last week’s announcement from the European Commission that it would come to the rescue of the country and avert the growing risk of the collapse of the euro.
Greece is facing £270bn of debt and will have to raise £49bn this year with at least £14bn to service maturing debts between now and the end of May.
