Gartmore appoints Brian Mitchell as head of dealing

Gartmore has appointed Brian Mitchell as head of dealing.
Mitchell is expected to join mid January 2010, responsible for overseeing all dealing activities including equities, derivatives, fixed income and FX in London, Tokyo and Boston. He will report to chief investment officer Dominic Rossi.
He joins from Barings Asset Management where he was head of dealing for 11 years.
Gartmore’s chief investment officer Dominic Rossi says: “We are delighted that Brian has chosen to join Gartmore. He brings a wealth of dealing experience and a vast knowledge of regulatory issues, which are particularly relevant in light of industry developments such as MiFID.”
