FSA says former SJP partner Carron defrauded clients
The FSA says former St James’s Place senior partner Peter Carron defrauded customers by handing their investments to his own failed businesses.
The regulator says Carron “misapproppriated clients’ investments into his ‘special project account’” and urged investors involved in the fraud to contact it immediately.
Victims of the alleged fraud are advised to call the FSA’s consumer helpline on 0845 606 1234.
In August,, St James’s Place offered a £1.8m package of compensation to investors who lost money when former senior partner Peter Carron advised them to invest in his own businesses.
It said it would cover losses where it has evidence that a client believed Carron was acting as a representative of St James’s Place when he advised them to invest in his businesses, Comment Technologies, Evaluate Technologies and Primrose Associates - which are all now in liquidation.
