Ex-Skandia chief joins Cofunds

Former Skandia UK business unit head of finance Mark Williams is joining Cofunds as its new finance director.

MoneyMarketing.co.uk revealed this week that Williams will be replacing finance director Andrew Harris, who is leaving along with co-founder Andy Creak.

Mark Williams left Skandia in August 2008 following a reshuffle of its wealth management unit, which also saw former head of the unit Brett Williams depart for Cofunds.

Creak was a founding director of Cofunds and is managing director of business development. He recently completed a review of the platform’s business model. Harris joined Cofunds in 2003 and is managing director of finance and controls.

Cofunds chief executive officer Brett Williams says: “Andy Creak has done a tremendous job. He has completed work on our business model and after a chat we felt it was time for him to move on. We will not be replacing Andy’s role.”

Advisers and fund groups have expressed concerns that Cofunds is is set to hike up its charges.
