Ex-Gartmore duo joining Eden
Eden Financial has recruited former Gartmore fund managers Dan Roberts and Leigh Himsworth.
Himsworth will take on the CF Eden UK select opportunities fund and the company intends to launch a global equity income vehicle for Roberts later in the year.
They will work alongside ex-M&G chief executive Ed Rosengarten, who joined the wealth manager as head asset management in February.
Roberts and Himsworth have been not worked since Henderson bought Gartmore in April.
Himsworth joined Gartmore in 2009 from Royal London Asset Management to head the firm’s UK equities team. He managed Gartmore’s £36m UK alpha and £179m UK growth vehicles.
Roberts also joined Gartmore in 2009 from Aviva Investors, where he managed the £161m UK equity income fund. He previously held roles at Invesco Perpetual and M&G.
Alongside John Anderson, the pair were considered to be the biggest names not remaining with Henderson following its Gartmore acquisition.
Anderson has since joined JP Morgan Asset Management as a portfolio manager in its fixed-income team and manages the £53m sterling corporate bond fund.
Hargreaves Lansdown senior analyst Meera Patel says: “Rob-erts and Himsworth are operating in a competitive area of the market and I think many will adopt a wait-and-see approach on their Eden funds.”
