Douglas Ferrans appointed as IMA chairman

The Investment Management Association has appointed Douglas Ferrans as chairman.

Ferrans took over the role on January 1, replacing Robert Jenkins who has left the UK to take up the role of CEO and managing partner of US based macro hedge fund manager Combinatorics Capital LLC.

Invesco chief investment officer and senior managing director Bob Yerbury assumes the role of deputy chairman and Schroders CIO Alan Brown joins the board.

Ferrans says: “As the UK investment  management industry continues to grow in size and importance, I look  forward to working with members, stakeholders and IMA staff to maintain the  solid progress we have made over the past few years. I would also like to take  this opportunity to welcome Alan Brown to the IMA Board and Bob Yerbury to his  new role of Deputy Chairman.
