De Blonay to co-manage Financial Opps from June

Guy de Blonay will co-manage the £1.2bn Jupiter financial opportunities fund alongside head of financials Philip Gibbs from June 1.
De Blonay rejoined Jupiter in January this year from Henderson New Star where he was responsible for a number of mandates, including the £178m New Star global financials fund. Prior to this he worked at Jupiter for six years.
Gibbs has managed the £1.2bn Jupiter financial opportunities fund since its inception in June 1997. In 2008, the fund returned 7 per cent versus -48 per cent for the FTSE Financials Index benchmark.
He says: “Guy has built a tremendous track record as a financials fund manager and I am very much looking forward to working alongside him on the Jupiter Financial Opportunities fund. Guy’s considerable investment skills will enhance our ability to produce outperformance for investors.”
