Brooks Macdonald hires ex-New Star Thompson

Brooks Macdonald Asset Management has appointed former New Star fund manager Toby Thompson as investment management director.

Thompson has previously managed funds at Newton and Eagle Star Investment Managers.

Thompson said: “There were a number of factors about Brooks Macdonald that appealed.

“Their independence, their excellent reputation within the IFA community and their strong commitment to professional development are all impressive attributes.

He added: “I was also attracted by the opportunity to be involved in all three strands of private client investment management: managing clients’ money, client service and research.”
