Barings to launch global mining fund
Barings is to launch a global mining fund in March that will invest in companies across the cap spectrum.
The fund will be managed by director and resources investment manager Clive Burstow, who Money Marketing revealed in June would join Barings from BlackRock.
Burstow was previously BlackRock vice-president with responsibility for analysis and investment across the mining sector.
He was previously vice-president at Alliance Bernstein and an analyst at Barings between 2004 and 2007.
The fund will aim for long-term capital growth by investing in equity and equity-related securities of mining companies and will have between 70 and 100 holdings. Around two-thirds of the fund is expected to be invested in small and mid-cap companies.
