HMRC to close 130 regional offices

HM Revenue and Customs is closing 130 regional offices, putting thousands of jobs at risk.
HMRC says the closures are part of programme announced in 2006.
A spokesman says: “It is a combination of a two year programme looking at the whole of the HMRC, including the buildings that we occupy.”
Up to 1,700 jobs are at risk as a result of the closures.
