Rowney takes over from Cook as LV= managing director
LV= group chief operating officer Richard Rowney is set to replace Rodney Cook as managing director of life and pensions at the firm.
Money Marketing revealed last month that Cook would be leaving LV= to take over from Just Retirement chief executive Mike Fuller who is retiring in July.
Cook has been MD at LV= for three years and previously worked at Prudential and Zurich. Rowney has also been at LV= for three years and is on the main board.
Rowney worked at Barclays for 14 years and was risk director of small business, chief operating officer of Premier Banking and integration director for the Woolwich and Barclays retail bank.
LV= group chief executive Mike Rogers says: “We are very pleased to have had an ideal candidate we could appoint internally.
“As a main board member, Richard has built up a good understanding of our life business and has contributed significantly to the turn-round of the group overall over the past three years.”
