Santander chief to replace Eric Daniels at Lloyds

Lloyds Banking Group has poached Santander chief executive António Horta-Osório as group chief executive officer.

Horta-Osório joins the firm in early 2011 and will succeed Eric Daniels as group chief executive on March 1, 2011.

Horta-Osório has been chief executive officer of Santander UK since 2006.  He has led Santander Group in the UK through the integration of the Abbey, Alliance & Leicester and the Bradford & Bingley savings business.
