Gartmore CIO Dominic Rossi joins Fidelity

Fidelity International has appointed former Gartmore chief investment officer Dominic Rossi.

Rossi joins Fidelity from Gartmore as CIO. He will report to chief executive officer and European president Robert Higginbotham.

Rossi’s departure came in tandem with the surprise news that Gartmore star manager Roger Guy is to retire from day-to-day fund management.

Prior to joining Gartmore, Rossi worked at Threadneedle Asset Management, where he was responsible  for Latin America and then global and international equities. He eventually became head of equities.

Higginbotham says: “Fidelity has one of the deepest equity research and portfolio management teams in the market. We are very focused on bringing this to the benefit of all our customers. Dominic combines a passion for investing with an appreciation of our way of investing. I am delighted that he will be bringing these qualities to Fidelity.”
