Founder Macleod leaves Skandia Investment Group
Macleod is succeeded by Nils Bolmstrand who has been with SIG since its launch in October 2007 and was responsible for product development, distribution and managing relationships with fund groups internationally. Bolmstrand has been chief executive of Skandia's Swedish business Skandia Fonder AB, having joined the group in 1998.
Macleod founded Skandia Investment Management in 2002 and helped grow the business which has £53bn assets under management. Skandia could not comment on the reasons for his departure.
Lipper quarterly fund statistics in August show that Skandia Investment Management had £3.45bn funds under management, with net retail sales down -£52.5m.
Old Mutual Group wealth management division chief executive officer Bob Head says: "Jamie founded Skandia Investment Management seven years ago and has been instrumental in building and leading the SIG business. In appointing Nils, we have a CEO who is well versed in the strategy of the business, who knows our fund group partners well, and will continue to develop the SIG business working within the wider Old Mutual Group."
Hargreaves Lansdown senior analyst Meera Patel says: "I do not think Macleod will be in any rush to start a new venture just yet. He might, with time, have something up his sleeve, as I do not think he will have trouble doing something jointly with another group or individual."
