SimplyBiz extends fees refund deal

SimplyBiz has extended its offer to refund examination fees to advisers who have successfully taken CII exams.

Advisers who have passed the relevant exams using Simplybiz services can now get a refund on their exam if taken before April 30.

The offer was originally introduced as part of SimplyBiz’s plans to support firms in their efforts to increase professionalism in time for the retail distribution review.

Chairman Ken Davy says: “This initiative has received very positive feedback from the IFAs we serve and we are delighted to extend the scheme as an additional incentive for advisers to reach diploma status by the exam route.

“I know that many advisers are somewhat concerned about taking exams and we are happy to have smoothed their path a little.”

Axxis Financial Planning director Owen Wintersgill says: “I think this is great initiative and it does help incentivise you. It is encouraging when you do actually get a pass and you prove to SimpyBiz and then they pay you, it is effective.

“Whether that would make someone sit an exam that the would not otherwise take, I’m not sure. But it certainly helps.” Number of nationally recognised level 4 qualifications or above held by IFA Promotion members in January 2010: 15,251
