People on the move: Mortgages

Virgin Money has recruited former Lloyds TSB chairman and chief executive Sir Brian Pitman as chairman as the group launches Virgin Bank. Norman McLuskie and Colin Keogh will join the board as non-executive directors. McLuskie was deputy chief executive of Royal Bank of Scotland prior to the takeover of NatWest and he also headed Tesco Personal Finance. Keogh was formerly Close Brothers’ group chief executive.

Dan Watkins will be stepping down from his role as Lloyds managing director of mort-gages. Watkins, previously chief executive of retail products at HBOS, will be leaving to pursue other opportunities at the end of February. In the interim, Lloyds operations director of mortgages Mike Kula will act as head of mortgages. Lloyds wealth and international director Jo Dawson will also leave at the end of the month to pursue other opportunities outside the company. Whole-sale group executive director Truett Tate will take over Dawson’s responsibilities.

Eric Stoclet will take over from Steve Haggerty as Crown Mortgage Management’s chief executive officer from February 1. Stoclet is currently advising Crown and Forum Partners, an investor in crown, on the restructuring of the Crown group’s European holdings. Prior to that, he was group executive director at Noor Investment Group in Dubai.

Private Finance has appointed Mortgageforce technical manager Katie Tucker as chief operating officer. She join Private Finance on February 19.

Nationwide group distribution director Matthew Wyles has been re-elected chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders for a second year.

Wyles will be supported by new joint deputy chairman GE Money Home Lending chief executive Colin Shave, who has taken over from Paragon managing director John Heron. Shave will be joining incumbent joint deputy chairman HSBC head of mortgages Martijn Van der Heijden.
