Richards: ‘Misunderstanding’

Tenet is offering a retail distribution review support programme for advisers.

It will include a 12-page guide to the RDR, an internet microsite, bespoke QCF level four training packages and advice on switching to a fee-based service.

The programme will also give a free personalised qualification audits to advisers.

Tenet says there is still a lot of uncertainty in the market over the RDR and recent figures show that four in five investment advisers do not have the necessary qualifications to continue operating with full investment permissions after implementation of the RDR in 2012.

Distribution and development director Keith Richards says: “We recently did a series of roadshows, with one of the hot topics being adviser-charging and there was a clear misunderstanding. Advisers leaving the roadshow felt more confident, so this programme is an extension of that.

“The programme tackles everything from guidance on implementation of the RDR to the raft of qualifications offered by respective bodies. It also looks at aspirations for the future on the back of the RDR.”
