Memory master to help SimplyBiz advisers study

SimplyBiz’s New Model Business Academy has hired record-breaking memory specialist David Thomas to help advisers study more efficiently to pass their diploma.

The not-for-profit academy has teamed up with LV= to offer advisers 100 free places on a unique diploma study course aimed at JO/RO papers in July.

International grandmaster of memory Thomas holds the Guinness world record for reciting Pi to 22,500 places and for memorising 100 packs of cards.

His techniques are designed to deal with time-consuming studying and to help advisers learn the technical information required more quickly to pass their exams. The places are offered on a first-come first-served basis and bookings will be taken on the academy site.

NMBA says it wants to do more to boost the CII’s average pass rate among advisers which it has calculated stands at 46 per cent across the JO papers.

Managing director Steve Braidford says: “Having seen at first hand what he does, we feel that David will dramatically increase the chances of IFAs achieving the diploma qualifications.

“The academy is currently assessing the pass rates and the number of individuals yet to sit exams and this is just one of the many ways we are helping advisers with their exams.”
