Intrinsic's Higginson could join Carby venture

Intrinsic Financial Services group marketing director George Higginson is leaving the network and is thought to be planning to take up a role with Keith Carby’s new venture, Wilmslow Wealth.

Money Marketing understands that former Openwork chief executive Carby is keen to work with Higginson although Carby declined to comment. Higginson says: “I have not agreed anything yet and am still looking at options.”

Intrinsic announced this week that Higginson was to leave the firm but his leaving date is yet to be agreed. Higginson was one of six founder directors of Intrinsic in 2006. Before this, he joined Zurich in 1992 before becoming national operations director in 2000.

Openwork chief executive Martin Davis says he believes only around 10 member firms are considering leaving to join Carby in addition to nine Openwork advisers already at Wilmslow Wealth which is an appointed representative of Paradigm.

Carby left Openwork in July 2009 following a disagreement over business strategy with Zurich, which owns a 25 per cent stake in Openwork.
