Heath teams up with Adviser Alliance
Former IFA Association director-general Garry Heath has joined campaign group Adviser Alliance.
He accepted an invitation from Adviser Alliance director Alan Lakey to join the body.
Heath set up the IFA Association before it became part of what is now Aifa and founded the financial services division of Bipar, the European body which represents IFAs. He has also established and sold two national financial services businesses valued at £40m.
Lakey says: “Garry is eager to join us and eager to get back into the fray to fight the RDR, among other things.
“He has got lots of contacts and we certainly want to put his knowledge to good use. It is a symbiotic process, as he naturally wants to push forward and make sure that the future shape of financial regulation is changed for the better.”
In October 2009, Heath sought to raise £25m to fund an IFA consolidation vehicle called Financial Inspirations. He is now chief executive of the company and aims to target IFA firms with a turnover between £1m and £10m to create a national IFA business.
