Hall gets the IFP good egg award

Institute of Financial Planning members have been recognised for their achievements, with Yellowtail Financial Planning managing director Dennis Hall winning the Tony Sellon memorial prize.

The IFP held its 25th annual conference in Newport last week.

The Tony Sellon memorial prize, also known as the “good egg” prize, is awarded in memory of IFP founder member Tony Sellon, who died of cancer in 2001. Hall won this year’s award after members nominated him as the individual who has contributed the most to the success of the body over the past year.

Joshua Guile won the financial planner student of the year award for getting the highest marks in the financial planning module, including the CFP certification case study, which forms part of Manchester Metropolitan University’s financial services, planning and management degree course.

Nottingham-based firm Fiscal Engineers won the David Norton building excellence award which recognises the business judged to have the most potential to develop as a successful financial planning firm. It is awarded in memory of former IFP president David Norton.

Paradigm Norton Financial Planning chief executive Barry Horner, one of three judges for the David Norton award, says: “All this year’s finalists are great businesses which demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism in delivering a comprehensive financial planning service for their clients. On behalf of the judges, our congratulations go to Fiscal Engineers for submitting such an outstanding entry.”

The paraplanner of the year award went to Brook-Dobson Brear financial planning analyst Gary Tunstall while SRG Financial Management founder Robert Stevenson won the IFP branch chairman of the year award for his work chairing the IFP Northern Ireland branch.
