Nucleus has appointed Helm Godfrey founding director Bruce Wilson and Central Investment director John Moore as non-executive directors.

Wilson set up Helm Godfrey in 1999 and was managing director until January, when he stepped down to focus on Project Eve, which aims to promote George Kinder’s life planning concept to lower-income groups. He is also vice-president of the Institute of Financial Planning.

Moore is director of Aberdeen IFA firm Central Investment and was recently appointed chairman of the Nucleus IFA Advisory Board.

The pair join Nucleus chairman Paul Bradshaw, chief executive David Ferguson, chief financial officer Aileen Mathieson and non-executive directors Punter Southall Group chairman Angus Samuels, Tax-briefs Financial Publishing editorial director Danby Bloch, Sanlam UK chief executive Lukas van der Walt and Sanlam UK finance director Stuart Geard.

Ferguson says: “John and Bruce have been with Nucleus since the very beginning and are two of the most highly respected IFAs in the industry.”

In April, Nucleus announced pre-tax losses of £3.3m for 2010, compared with losses of £3.2m in 2009. Ferguson says he expects the firm to break even this year.
