AWD Chase de Vere appoints Stephen Kavanagh as CEO

AWD Chase de Vere has appointed Stephen Kavanagh as the firm’s new chief executive officer.

Kavanagh has been national sales director at the AWD Chase de Vere since 2006 and replaces Mike Kirsch who left the group back in March 2009.

Kavanagh began his career in financial services in 1985 with Bank of Scotland, he moved to Allied Irish Bank in 1992 to work as an independent financial adviser.

In 1997 Kavanagh joined Thomsons Financial Planning and advanced to become a Regional Sales Director for the north. AWD Chase de Vere purchased Thomson Financial Planning in 2003, with Kavanagh becoming national sales director for AWD Group Plc in April 2006.

AWD has re-organised its sales team on the back of the appointment, with regional sales manager Phil Andrews becoming national sales director. Kavanagh will retain some functions on the team.

AWD Chase de Vere managing directo Martyn Laverick says: “We have taken our time with this appointment with a number of processes in place when the former chief exec was here. With those now completed it made sense to make this appointment.”
