Aberdeen hires business development manager for £10bn range
Aberdeen Asset Management has hired a business development specialist to focus on sales of its £10bn long-only multi-manager fund range.
Aidan Upton, who currently works at Architas, will join Aberdeen as a senior business development manager next month. He will be responsible for the distribution of the firm’s multi-manager products across the UK.
Aberdeen co-head of multi-manager Aidan Kearney says: “Aberdeen has been slowly building out its sales capability on the retail side. The business has a heavily institutional client base, but there are a lot of unit holders in Aberdeen’s funds and getting the message out there to retail investors is important.
“The use of platforms in the distribution model, combined with the fact that the RDR will increase the popularity of multi-manager products, calls for a specialist in this sales role.”
